True, we don't know if they stayed together but I am just making an educated guess because Miranda and the kids definitely liked Stu and I don't see Stu breaking things off because of what happened at the restaurant.

The movie doesn't do anything to suggest that will happen, it does plenty to make a point of how decent a guy Stu is, but I guess you could say the fact that they are finally back on good terms, and she can see how he's grown, and how much he understands leaves it as a remote possibility

It was probably left open for interpretation on purpose, but I think it sends a far more powerful message that the divorced parents remained on good terms for the sake of their kids. It gave a lot of children of divorce hope that everything would be alright, even if their parents remained separated.
Getting them back together would just provide a lot of false hope and unrealistic expectations for families everywhere. It was actually quite forward thinking of them to keep the parents separated and still have it be a happy ending. -

I think it's pretty obvious they didn't get back together. There's the scene where Miranda goes to the studio to visit Daniel, and even then, after everything that's gone on, the two of them are
still
fighting. Even the symbolism in the last scene, where he doesn't actually come into the house.
Honestly, none of the movie was about Daniel getting Miranda back. It was about being with his kids. Now, when he was Mrs. Doubtfire, he certainly asked Miranda about his behavior as a husband, but I think that was more just so he could learn about where he needed to grow up and mature in order to be in his children's lives. -

I agree I can't imagine one reason why they would want to get back together I say it is pretty obvious that they didn't get back together and think about it they argued more times in the movie then they didn't argue.

Leaving the story open-ended was smart, since Daniel and Miranda getting back together might give false hope to children of divorcees. I definitely think the film implies that the family did reconvene, though.
Throughout the movie (particularly in Daniel's apartment), Miranda realises that her husband has gotten his act together and has ironed out the personality traits she disliked in him. The Stu character is dropped after the big reveal, and Miranda begins to remember what a good person and father Daniel is (largely due to his efforts as Doubtfire), eventually giving up her full custody. Doubtfire notes on her show that "sometimes they [couples] do" get back together rendering this a possibility for the leads at which point the film ends with Miranda watching Daniel/Doubfire on TV with a look of great affection.
Earlier in the movie when Miranda speaks to Doubtfire about how life was with Daniel, she still seems to have a lot of fondness for him, even taking some responsibility for the collapse of their marriage ("I was serious enough for everybody"). She also appears to be jealous when she hears that Daniel is living with another woman. The pair still love each other, and the kids want their family unit back, so I think Miranda did the right thing. -

Yep and it just like how Mrs Doubtifre gives in her speech on whether parents get back together or don't, does anybody know of any parents that did get a divorce and eventually did get back together again?

No way. I simply think Daniel and Miranda decided it's better to be cordial to each other, and let the kids still be part of both parents' lives. There still was too much animosity hidden deep down for the two of them to get back together, and as the saying goes, people don't change. At the end, Miranda not allowing Daniel into the house is a good example of this.

If I was Daniel, I wouldn't touch that heartless bitch ever again, stabbing him in the back like that OVER NOTHING. If he cheated on her or beat her, I could see her anger. But she was too much of a control freak.

I guess it it is a good thing you are not Daniel, but i would seriously doubt that they did, they were much better people when they weren't married to each other, and most of the time Miranda never seemed to be happy in the same room as Daniel expect for the entire time that she din't even know that her beloved housekeeper Mrs. Doutbfire was really him in disguise.

I honestly don't think Daniel wanted her back around the last half of the movie. He realized just how much he didn't love her himself, almost like he was waking up. I also feel Miranda is a terrible person so I'm a bit biased in also hoping he goes no where near her again.

I'm pretty sure from the moment the divorce was settled, Daniel's main mission was to gain shared custody with his children, not to win Miranda back. While he may have been shocked and upset at the beginning when Miranda confessed she wanted a divorce, deep down he probably knew that was the right decision, based on their obvious differences.
