Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Mrs. Doubtfire

since Mrs. Doubtfire came into their lives. Mrs. Doubtfire IS Daniel disguised as a Scottish Nanny, so how does that make the kids do well at school? When Daniel lived at home the kids should have been just fine.

While they should have been when Daniel was living at home, but from the way Lyida was talking about Chris' report card iddm't sound good for Miranda to have refused a birthday party

When Daniel (as himself) was still in their lives he played a major role in the "loosey goosey" environment that Mrs. Doubtfire alluded to that was causing them to not reach their potential. Miranda too was not shy about what a negative influence Daniel was in their divorce conversation. Mrs. Doubtfire was a representation of Daniel getting his life in order and influencing his kids to do the same. The scenes where Mrs. Doubtfire is reading to them, those are very powerful because it was probably the first time ever, if not in a long time, that Daniel was doing activities with his kids that were academic.

Seems as Mrs. Doubtfire he actually made them study and do their homework.
