    Were you asking me?
I've been to many a liquor store.
I've just never seen one that sold anything but liquor.
Soda and seltzer and such, but no food.

I don't know about any of you but I live 2 hours from south central Los Angeles presently, and I HAVE lived in the greater Los Angeles area for some time in my recent past. I am not here to lay the ground rules for liquor stores, and I am not going to contest what some of you out there may know or not know about liquor stores or how liquor stores may be run in your particular region of the world. But
I have seen snacks sold at liquor stores. On my way to work today, I picked up a bag of peanuts and some cheez-its at a liquor store. It isn't a full-scale grocery store type of setting, but there are consumable snack-sized goods being sold at liquor stores. This is a known fact that I have witnessed with my very own two eyes, and have even participated in, as recently as just a few hours ago, when I purchased some cheez-its and peanuts on my way to work.
Food IS sold at liquor stores. Why is this such an unbelievable concept?
      funny

It really depends on what state you live in. In North Carolina we have ABC Stores (Alcoholic Beverage Control) which is run by the state. If you want to buy liquor you go to the ABC Store and that is all they sell just liquor. If you own a night club or resturant you have to make sure you have a permit to sell liquor. I know that whenever I'm in Maryland or Washington,DC area anybody can get a permit and open up a liquor store and sell liquor, candy, honey buns, lottery tickets whatever they want to sell but I notice in North Carolina the only liquor stores here are ran by the ABC board (Alcoholic Beverage Control)and the ABC Stores are closed on Sundays.

Well in many places, liquor store is just another term for convenience store.

Where I reside liquor stores also sell sodas, juices, lottery tickets, cigarettes, candy, gum and snacks. I think most of the snacks are jerky, chips, nuts and crackers. I am going to have to closer look the next time I visit the liquor store.
