Poetic Justice captures the favor of young, black South Central Los Angeles in the early 1990s. In many ways, this movie is a microcosm of young, black inner city America. The imagery is harsh. The characters are drunk, wild and loose, yet hope is there. There is even love beneath the invective and raging violence. The main characters rage, fight and find love. They drop bad habits and grow up. They become wiserthe story of life.

I would say Boyz In The Hood and Menace 2 Society are the ones most people would name as the classics. This was one aimed more at a female audience. Nothing wrong with that, obviously.
