This is one of the best scenes in this movie? lol
It's not as good as Stand By Me but it's pretty funny.

When I was younger and tired, I'd think of that moment because it sounds so sleepy.

I can still hear the kids' echoing voices saying that, and when I'm especially tired and have seen parts of this movie recently, can hear it when someone just says the word in a normal tone.

This movie was such a deep part of my childhood, and for my friends as well (we all saw it at least a hundred times and still watch it when it's on TV for old times' sake), that very frequently, when one of us says the word "forever", someone else in the group will do it like Squints right after - "for-ev-VER, for-ev-VER!"
Or if someone asks a question that has an answer of "forever" (or even just 'a really long time'), we say it as well. 🙂
            Example:
"Hey, how long is it going to take you to finish painting?"
            "For-ev-VER! For-ev-VER!"
And then we all laugh. 🙂 Anyone else's group of friends have this ingrained into you?

When the movie came out, this was the line I quoted the most. LOL!

If you were a kid in the early to mid 90's as I was, this movie was required viewing. I'm 31 now, as are my friends, but to this day if someone does the "for-ev-VER" bit, everybody laughs at the reference. I loved this movie as a kid and still do now as an adult. It's a timeless classic for all ages.

You can never get that line out of your head when you're a kid. Or even when you watch it now as an adult, ha ha.

People who grew up in the '90's will reference this line without even realizing it. Everyone back then saw this movie. It's almost like a cult thing.

I love that line. I also love when he's telling the story, and he's like, "and the pup was grateful."
