After the chase and he stands there with Benny in front of him right before the fence falls right on top of him? That is NOT a natural way for a dog to react when something is about to fall on top of you. Dogs normally run out of the way. Why did the dog just stand there?

I am watching this movie as I write this and that part just happened
The dog turns his head to see the fence as its already falling, my thought is either he didn't have enough time to get out of the way or he was too tired. I mean did just run like 2 miles around town.
