One window pane was broken, but Morgan wasn't shot with a shotgun, just a well-aimed six-shooter, in the hand of Frank Stilwell. The bullet passed through his body and hit an innocent bystander, who also perished from the same bullet. A second bullet missed Wyatt's head by about a foot.
I intend to live forever.

Although Stuart Lake reported that the bystander, George Berry, died from the bullet that killed Morgan, I believe more recent books state that Lake was wrong about that, and that Berry lived. -

I'll have to double check my sources. It's entirely possible I read that in Stuart Lake, but it seems I read the same thing elsewhere.
And of course Stuart Lake is suspect, but next to Frank Waters, Lake's book is gospel.
