You've probably figured this out, by now, but the Goldblum movie was "Mr. Frost." Never saw it, but I remember reading that it was decent, way back in '91 or so.

Tim Curry beats them all in
            Legend
            .
his character, technically named Darkness, used to scare the crap out of me as a kid.

Christopher Walken plays the archangel Gabriel, which isn't quite the devil but almost should be.
And in the movie The Car, the devil is shown as a car. Sort of like Christine, only more powerful. Seriously.
Some people get the idea of double agent confused with double penetration.

Viggo Mortenson actually plays the devil in "The Prophecy" with Walken playing Gabriel. And Viggo plays the devil in a very creepy way.
I agree, the best devil is Curry in Legend.
And Mr. Frost was dang good as well. If you believe in the devil this is the kind of way I would figure it. Just like us, but evil to the core. No conscience at all. Totally a manipulator. And being deemed as insane. A basic pyschopath. However, an extremely charasmatic pyschopath.
Al Pacino in "The Devil's Advocate." He was good.
In the end though, for pure entertainment value, I loved curry's devil in legend.

Crossroads, where Satan is portrayed by a black man.
O Brother Where Art Thou, where the main villain is heavily implied to be Satan.
The Passion of the Christ, where Satan is depicted by a woman.
The Last Temptation of Christ, where Satan is disguised as a little girl.

OK, I know this thread is really old, but I have to add my own favorite movie starring the Devil. This might sound odd because it's NOT a horror film, but check out Highway 61 (Canadian road movie). I won't spoil it for anyone who might choose to see it, but the main plot line involves Satan. Sort of.

"Also I remember once seeing a Spanish language film about a Priest who travels around the city going to heavy metal music shops, etc, trying to prevent the birth of the Anti-Christ." = The Day of the Beast (1995) El da de la bestia
Great movie with good directing and screenplay, good actors. It takes you on a ride trough dark comedy and horror. In some point you think they are idiots, then it hits you with horror elements then push you back to comedy. Ending is brutal and done like a masterpiece. Portrayal of the Devil is very good. 8/10 by me.

Nobody mentioned "Highway To Hell" with Kristi Swanson and Chad Lowe. The entire movie is about the devil and going to hell. There is also a "devil"-looking character in Nightbreed, but he's only on screen for a few seconds during a couple of scenes.
