Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Warlock: The Armageddon

    justyourfoolife79 — 13 years ago(February 25, 2013 03:21 PM)

After revisiting this after a few years, I realised how utterly stupid and derivative it is.
    Funny:
The midget who says, "He ees va Dehhhhvul!"
The dog who licks the fetus
Just about anything Julian Sands hammingly says, like Freddy Krueger in a "yuppie" suit
    Rip-offs:
The Omen - daggers, rebirth of Antichrist
    Xtro - That icky birthing

Did anyone also watch this connecting Lethal Weapon and Predator, because of two of the old geezers in those films?

It also ripped off Star Wars.
The warriors were basically Jedis, with powers very similar to a Jedi. The "training" was also very similar, i.e. focusing on small objects, being told to trust their feelings rather than their eyes. The movie even threw in the old "You must fight your nemisis. You have no choice" line. I like how the Warlock wore all black, just like Vader. Even the music at times was just like Star Wars.

You got a point, there! Even the rock-levitating was a direct rip-off.
Xtro meets action stars meets Star Wars meets "insert black-magic reference here".
Well, no surprise for the director of Hellraiser III.
