Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Wayne's World 2

    smoko — 14 years ago(April 03, 2012 12:17 AM)

This was a show where Wayne and Garth were MTV's special guest presenters. I saw it as a rerun in the mid 90's, apparently it originally aired in 1992 to promote
    Wayne's World 2
    .
I can't remember much, but they did:

    • a segment on Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box" video (they misinterpreted the chorus as, "Hey Wayne, I got a new complaint" and told Kurt Cobain to chill out)
    • a short analysis of Meat Loaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" video
    • their top 10 music videos of all time (number one was "every Aerosmith video ever made")
    • an interview with Daisy Fuentes, who was an MTV presenter at the time
    • a parody of R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts" video:
Strangely there's no mention of this show on the Wikipedia page
      I haven't seen either
      Wayne's World
movie or their SNL sketches, but I still thought the MTV special they did was hilarious. I'd love to see it again.
Does anyone else remember this show they did?
Update: Apparently part of their special was "Pain Cave"
      and a terrific "Layla" parody:

I remember this and it included a spoof of Eric Clapton Unplugged version of Layla with the changed lyrics of Wayne's World instead of Layla
they also made fun of the bald guy playing the percussion solo

@mannfann This show is like some urban legend, some have seen it but there's not enough evidence

I seen it and wish it was on the Blu ray. Some of the jokes were Wayne saying Iggy Pop sounded like a piece of cake floating in your Jolt Cola. And Daisey Fuentes' name meaning fine Corinthian leather. It's no urban legend. It existed

Yes, there were MTV specials for each of the two Waynes World films. They were great. They were just great little promotional clip shows that also had some original material as well. At one time, I actually had most of the first one on tape. Garth and Wayne played Pain Cave, which was an original song from them. The second one had the Layla parody. Great stuff.

                @lexicron Well here's "Pain Cave":
And here's the terrific "Layla" parody:
