Which one Rachel's sister do you like more? I'd pick Christina Applegate as Amy.

I liked the Reece Witherspoon character more. She was more harmless. She was just kind of self centered, immature and bratty. The Applegate character seemed pathological, sleeping with married men, wanting them to give her their child if they died, getting a baby's ears pierced at such a young age without the parents consent. She was pure evil. The two characters aren't even close. Witherspoon is a saint compared to Applegate.

Tina Applegate was hotter - like when she wore Rachel's leather skirt and said to her "Oh sweetie, you would never be able to pull this off"
Also Tina was more convincing as a sister.
You could scoop pickled onions out of a jar with Reece Witherspoon's chin, hana -

I based my answer on which character was better or worse. In that light I can't imagine anyone choosing the Applegate character as she was such a horrible person.
Are the rest of you answering on terms of I liked this character better or with the criteria of I think this actress is better looking than this actress? I ask because so many are choosing Applegate who belittled everyone, pierced a child's ear, wants to be assigned guardian of that baby, is actively having affairs with married men etc. so I'm thinking, maybe they are picking her just based on looks.

Exactly this. If Amy Green were a real person she'd be a horrendous human being and if she were my sister I would probably file a restraining order. But she's not, she's a sitcom character and as a TV character she's hysterical.

Agree. Jill is just spoiled. Amy is extremely stupid, mean, and a seriously horrible person but she's much funnier than Jill so I enjoy her character more. Also, Amy's debut episode (TOW Rachel's Other Sister) is one of my fav episodes in season 9.

Both awful people. But Amy was definitely more 'charming', if that's the right word. Can't get past Christina Applegate in any case. The woman is simply amazing. I adore her work. I like Reese Witherspoon well enough I suppose, but she doesn't hold a candle to Applegate in the charm department.

Ok heres a question- since Rachel was also borderline biatch when she arrived, do we think Amy and Jill may have turned out different if either had moved in with Monica also and been taken in by the other Friends???

Absolutely. I believe strongly in environment over heredity. The Friends were a strong and positive influence on Rachel, and she became a better person through them, and hopefully they did through knowing her. Jill and Amy have clearly never had those kind of grounding influences in their lives, hence they are spoiled and live in the clouds. -

Most seem to say Amy is worse. I always thought Jill was worse.
Both of her sisters hate her. And love the fact she's gotten fat. Amy even stating things are good with just her and Rachel talking about real stuff "without that stupid Jill." Then there was her dating Ross in attempt to spite Rachel.
Jill seemed intentionally vindictive. Amy just seemed scatter-brained without a filter. Like when she pierced Emma's ears. She thought it would be cute, and that Rachel might like it. It was not a good idea, but Amy is in the clouds, and very sheltered. So some things she doesn't understand the severity of.
And she mentioned the baby should have a cool fun aunt. Which is probably more than Jill ever cared about being to anything related to Rachel. And again with her lack of filter, she doesn't seem to intend to insult people, but she doesn't realize when to stop talking, or what not to say. Her people-skills were lacking.
And it seemed Jill was a lost cause, but Rachel seemed to think Amy could be better.
And I think Christine mentioned that Amy looked up to Rachel a bit. But it has been AGES since I watched the episodes with Jill. So I could be remembering her as worse than she was.
If you're gonna pretend to cut her hair, at least put some scissors in your hand!
