One thing I mentioned to my boyfriend was the amount of unnecessary amount of fat jokes on her. Like the occasional one is whatever but geeze, sometimes they can be so harsh on her.

It amazes me how far cell phones have come. The ones on the show are outdated.

They showed Gilmore Girls using cell phones and texting like it was normal in the revival and it made me realize a lot of the good shows never had much cell phone use. It would change a Friends revival a lot.

The volume of gay jokes wouldn't fly. And, Kathleen Turner playing Chandler's Dad as transgender wouldn't either. I thought she was brilliant in the role, but it would cause a massive stir.
A lot has changed in 20 years.
Friends having the lesbian wedding was huge at the time.

Some people do go overboard, but why is being sensitive to others feelings a bad thing now? Or can you only laugh if entire groups of people are being stereotyped for your amusement?

Balance is key. Too PC has killed some of the jokes that Friends and Seinfeld had.

^This. There's a difference between poking fun at things like stereotypes, and blatant disrespect/harassment. Sometimes people strive to be offended, and to censor humor.

Some people do but how many jokes in Friends are based on stereotypes? Very rarely would any joke from this show be iffy now, so it's not like sensitivity has ruined all comedy.

Someone on this thread stated there was an "unnecessary" number of fat jokes. It really doesn't matter how rare it is as it relates to a single show. The fact of the matter is that the efforts to censor comedy (and really just about everything) are real, and we should all be concerned about the issue.
