Anyone wish Phoebe had ended up with David?

I wish that David didn't leave in season 1, but I suppose Hanks committment to The Simpsons, and other films, made it difficult to stay on for a longer arc. I don't think though that he and Phoebe would end up together in the end, however. As Silverwolf pointed out and I agree with, David is too nice for her. In the later appearances of the show, David comes off as he wouldn't be able to handle her weirdness or her rudeness (as Phoebe is mean in seasons 4 and beyond), and he's simply too nice and respectful.

Well..I loved David s charecter.he was Adorable and nerdy.however I felt the chemistry between Mike and Phoebe was better.
He suited better with her.

I would have liked to see Hank Azaria more but his character probably would have gotten on my nerves. He took Ross' awkwardness to a whole other level.

Interesting to think about. I might agree, but thinking it through, I could handle Hank's character if it were given as much air time as Paul's
I wonder how they would have handled the story line of him and Ross hanging out in TOW Rachel's phone number.

I never really understood the love for David/Phoebe. He was too much of a pushover and he chose his career over Phoebe. I know she pushed him to, but he had a choice. They were together for 5 minutes and had no lasting impact on the show, imo.

Yeah, me neither. None of Phoebe's mates seemed a great match for her. Maybe the best would be Gary from Season 5.
I don't like either David or Mike, though. I just watched TOW In Barbados the other day and again showed me how I just don't like either of them. David is more of an underdog, but still he is dorky to a fault. Mike, IMO, is just very blah.

Post-pregnancy Phoebe was much harsher than the person David had fallen in love with. She honestly would have eaten him alive.

What the hell is with all of this Davis love? There is NOTHING appealing about him in terms of looks or personality.
Mike, on the other hand, was the best love interest on the show that wasn't part of the six Friends.

But I think David was popular because he seemed weird like Phoebe. And he was sweet. But sadly, that wouldn't work with Phoebe after season 4.
