Then you are wrong. Ask anybody from Prescott. That's how you tell the true Arizonans from the fake ones 😛

By the rules of the english language, it should be pronounces press-scott. press-kit is just saying it with an accent. same as calling a roof a ruff.
Kneel as you are in the presence of Greatness.

I always thought it was Press-kit. Same thing with Illinois though. You hear alot of people say "Ill-eh-noys" instead of "Ill-eh-noy".

Speaking of Illinois, it's kind of like Des Plaines. While Des Moines, IA is pronounced "Duh-Moyne" Des Plaines, IL is pronounced "Des Plains". While Des Plaines should probably have a silent "S" like Des Moines and Illinois, I wouldn't say the pronunciation of Des Plaines is incorrect.
Although I do like saying "Ill-eh-noys" to annoy my friends from there.

Yeah, I've had people try to correct me and say Des Plaines should be pronounced with the s silent. I just laugh at them and say "Yes, childin theory"

Press kit is correct. Only tourists, newbies and snowbirds call it Press cot.

Sam Elliot in Tombstone is the only time I've noticed pronounced correctly.
What's next?? Something that sounds better than a cassette tape?!

The O in Prescott should be a schwa vowel (ə), unstressed with no distinct pronunciation. The important thing is heavy stress on the first syllable.
Jokingly, I have told people that it was originally Pre-Scott, because the town was around before Randolph Scott.
