when I watch this movie again after a few years is when Axel and Flint are being followed by the security team and Axels jumps out to "stop a mugging" or so he says, and Flint jumps out of the car and bumps into the security guys. The music turns a bit darker and Flint tells the other guys something along the line of "Dont worry, next time Ill kill him" and it certainly looks like he is in cahoots with De Wald & Co. But then later in the movie he turns out to be a good guy after all Anyone else fooled by this? And what the hell does that scene even mean? Im dumbfounded by it.

i think flint looks up to de wald in a hero worshiping way. Esp early on when he asks to play golf with him. it appears when flint says ill kill him( Foley) he says that to appease de wald or to get de wald to like flint. He also seemed impressed with fullbright the agent. i think the summation of flint is, he is a hard working everyman type who looks to people of authority as people to worship, oblivious de wald is the bad guy we all know he is.

Detective Jon Flint (Hector Elizondo) thought that Axel Foley
was the "bad guy" in the movie and he didn't know the truth on
Elis De Wald (Timothy Carhart) until the end of the movie he is
in this movie because John Taggart (John Ashton) was written off
the movie remember he says that he spends his days playing golf.
The good news is that they will be making a Beverly Hills Cop 4.
I agree this movie wasn't that good. From what I've been told
there will be a Beverly Hills Cop 4 which will be directed by
Brett Ratner who directed the Rush Hour movie franchise. Eddie
Murphy himself admitted he was disappointed with the movie at
the box office and feels they could make a better movie won't
be released until 2014 which is quite sometime from now. They
are also saying that Detective John Taggart will be back too.
Director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand) spoke to MTV News about some of his plans for the fourth "Beverly Hills Cop" movie, which he revealed will simply be called "Beverly Hills Cop."
"It's a hard R," he said regarding internet rumors that he will be making a watered-down PG-13 reboot of the action/comedy franchise staring Eddie Murphy as a foul-mouthed, wise-cracking Detroit cop Axel Foley.
Ratner also dismissed rumors that the film will focus on Axel joining forces with an overweight, insecure cop to investigate a suspicious suicide. "There was all this stuff on the Internet and they'd read a script," he said. "It's not the script I'm making."
He continued: "It's a reinvention. I'm going to reintroduce it to a contemporary audience. I'm going to take the best of the first two films and put it into the new one."
Ratner, who directed all three "Rush Hour" films, seems certain that he has a winner on his hands. "Eddie Murphy to me was what Chris Tucker is to 12 and 13 year olds today," he said. "I would never do another buddy cop movie, but to do 'Beverly Hills Cop' is a dream for me. Eddie is a genius."
First, Eddie Murphy is one of my favorite actors and comedians
in movies the Beverly Hills cop franchise is one of the best in
action movie history. Why wait until 2014 why not release BHC 4
in 2012? They are saying that filming starts in 2011? Sources??
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are going to release Bad Boys 3
in 2012 according to IMDB I can't wait to see both these movies.
Second, many people here are saying that Sgt. John Taggart will
be returning in the forth installment? From what I remember that
Billy Rosewood told Axel in part 3 was that Sgt. John Taggart is
retired and that he was living in Arizona and he spent his whole
day playing golf? Isn't that the reason that Hector Elizondo was
cast in Beverly Hills Cop 3 to replace John Ashton's role in the
film? Don't get me wrong I would like to see the original cast.
Third, Beverly Hills Cop 3 was a very good movie. The only thing
I would of changed was the setting compared to the other two of
the franchise a theme park setting seemed kind of different in a
sense they could of made it better. And the villain of the movie
Timothy Carhart (Ellis De Wald) didn't sit well with me. This is
similar to the villain in Die Hard pt 4 Timothy Olyphant (Thomas
Gabriel). All I'm saying is that they could of cast someone much
better than him to be the "Bad Guy" speaking of this anyone here
know who is rumored to be the villain in Beverly Hills Cop IV? -

I saw that part again this morning. He says that he'll get him in the sense that he will get Axel on that plane out of town. Axel actually went to a phone to call Uncle Dave, which sets up the next scene.

I don't think Flint was in "Cahoots" with De Wald at any point, but did know him and wanted a job working for him. It is just that at this point Flint's jury is still out on whether or not De Wald is a bad guy.
