Wow, cromagnom, I haven't seen anyone racist against Canadians in a long time. The truth is that Canada doesn't ban movies. The truth is that only the morons call you a bigot if you don't listen to hip hop, and that's because they don't know what a bigot is. Hip hop is actually starting to die where I live.
I cannot speak for all Canadians, but I can speak for myself and all the ones I've talked to, and when politics enters the conversation, nobody goes hysterical, but an intelligent discussion can ensue, so long as both parties understand the matter at hand.
The people who post 20 pictures of themself getting high, yeah, they do live a shallow existence because I guess in their minds, if they don't make their drug habit public, it's not worth doing. But those people are not the Canadian masses.
In short, we are not an inflexible people, you've just had experience with a whole bunch of morons. Trust me, the States are the same (if not worse), that there are a whole ton of morons there, among some very smart people.
You can't argue with my logic! Well, you can, but I won't listen!

Yeah, seems like you just lived in a bad place. I've never lived in Toronto. I've been to Toronto, and didn't like what I saw. The gangsta imitators and condescending snobs inhabit all areas of of North America, and lots in other continents as well (though I imagine the "gangsta" population of those places would be substantially lower).
You cannot escape stupidity, no matter where you live, it will be there.

Then you got the hicks who live up in the farming areas or the boonies. I have nothing against them, they're nice people.
Thanks. Speaking as a single hick from the boonies I have nothing against you either. -

If you're surprised then you don't understand Canadians very well at all.
Canadian have a very depreciating sense of humour, we can make fun of ourselves and laugh at ourselves. This movie actually got the Canadian style of humour spot on, though I doubt Michael Moore intended that.
Why do you think Canadians like Dan Aykroyd and John Candy agreed to do this movie anyway?
On a side note, Canadians in this movie are depicted as being generally polite and nice people who live in a clean and peaceful nation. This movie actually makes the most fun of Americans as it depicts them as stupid, gun toting war mongers. In a way, Canada plays the foil to the United States. -

I'm surprised this movie wasn't just plain banned on planet Earth for being stupid, irrelevant and unfunny.
The dialogue is mostly inane, the situations preposterous and the characterisations are cardboard cutouts at best.
Michael Moore should stick to documentaries.
