Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Canadian Bacon

    Memento_10 — 21 years ago(June 26, 2004 07:55 AM)

Canadian Bacon's budget was $11 million and the movie only made $187,271 thousand dollars. It wasn't that bad of a movie why did people not want to see this it had John Candy and many other great actors including Kevin Pollak.

Canadians found it idiotic and ludicrous and Americans hated being made fun of.

So did it actually make its money back? Where could you check the international boxoffice figures, + video rentals and TV licensing?
I know it wasn't in the movies in Sweden, but it's been on TV more than once
I saw it some years back and remember it as pretty decent and funny.

According to the numbers on Box office mojo it wasn't released overseas.

No, from what I remember, the movie release was delayed for some reason, and it barely got ANY promotion when it was releasedTHAT'S why it didn't do goodplus Moore wasn't the big name then that he is now.

Who cares? It's a great movie. Not all movies are made for everyone.

It's either $187,271 or $187 thousand. The way you wrote it,$187,271 thousand translates into $187 MILLION, which would be far from a bomb!!!
