Eli Porter appears as this weird looking alien thing, and eats Maria, his brother's girlfriend. It looks a lot like that alien in the teleportation tube at the Disney attraction Alien Encounter. The effects in this film were good up until then. This is the only COTC film I didn't like the premise of. Why did they put an alien in it? What does that have to do with scythe wielding kids and He Who Walks Behind The Rows? Also I hated that they took this movie away from Gatlin. That's where all the stuff originally happened. Why did they have to take it to Chicago? I'm looking foward to number 8. Hope it goes back to the orginal concept and hope it picks up where 6 left off.

Still, HWWBTR isn't an alien. It's an evil deity, and making "it" look like a cute little alien from the Disney attraction Alien Encounter isn't the way to go. Urban Harvest just completely threw off the series. I think that's when the films started to go a little down hill. Then it all just collasped from there.

Plus I thought taking the story away from Gatlin threw it off just a bit too. I mean I know it could have been part of that whole world domination ploy but I think COTC will alway be in Gatlin. It will always remind us of small urban farming communities. I just don't think of huge buildings and skyscrapers when I think COTC. I thought Daniel Cerny did a fantastic job of playing Eli though. They always manage to get these really convincing actors to play the roles of the leaders. You almost start to believe them yourself. I wonder who they'll get for number 8? I'd like to see a girl as the leader just once, not because I'm a girl just because I think it'd be really neat to see a girl all demanding and preachy.

I read somewhere in 2004 that the director for Darkness Falls Joe Harris was suppose to be taking on the project but I haven't heard anything on # 8 since then. I'm sure sooner or later it will be made whether by Harris or someone else. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

I disagree that the monster resembles an alien in any way, it just seems more like a giant plant creature, which kinda makes sense. And of course IMO it is indeed HWWBTR.
This is not related but I bought the box set yesterday, and their's a picture behind the cotc 3 disc with the angel that comes alive in the chapel where the father is tied to the cross, but in the picture the angel has a face of a demon, I think this might of been cut out of the film? Shame, because I thought it looked pretty nifty.

Great film up until the endI've come to the conclusion that they had to spend all their budget money on making a convincing He Who Walks Behind The Rows, so they had to cut down on the sound quality, picture quality and acting. It all goes on for so long the end, and it's so boring. I was watching it and thinking WTF! I couldn't stop laughing. The acting makes it look like the actors don't care that they're being brutally murdered. I saw the barbie doll thing as Maria, that was hilarious.
