The series takes it time developing the world, the culture of our vampire characters set in New Orleans. The sets, costumes and acting is outstanding!
The acting is outstanding! Th script is amazing.
I'm done idolizing the film. The film seems antiquated now and very superficial. -

If most Americans today are aware that some black men and women, like Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman, were able to escape from southern plantations and live in freedom in the North, few realize that free African Americans also lived in and occasionally prospered in places where slavery was so deeply rooted that it took a war to abolish it. One such place was Louisiana.

Yeah that was like .0001% of black people, so the odds of them being vampires is minuscule. Even more minuscule that they look like supermodels. That goes for the white actors too.

Honestly the vampire lore has changed so much throughout the years. A vampire can look like a lot of things. They don't necessarily have to look pale.
Even if a black person never sees the sun, they still have melanin in their skins, they don't turn into white people.
