Speaking of
Interview with the the Vampire
, I bought the book from Barnes & Nobles in the university I'm attending, which is a 3-in-1 hard cover book with golden part on the page border. I just finished the 1st book and I'm working on
Vampire Lestat
, which is basically both prequel and sequel to IwtV. I'm still in first few chapters, just after Lestat was turned vampire and his master committed suicideβ¦..which is a strange part. How can one make a fledgling vampire then just off himself? Isn't that selfish? But the real reason is because he wanted someone to scatter his ashes, he wanted someone to carry out his final wishes as vampires. It seems Lestat's master is tired of living an immortal life and went mad. Lestat had a hard life as human, his brothers abused him and his family was controlling him except his mother, who was gentle with him. She, too, had it hard.
There are a few scenes I wish they added in the film from the first book, especially Claudia. She's much darker in the book than her portrayal in the film. Another scene I wish they added more is the theater sequence involving Claudia's death. Lestat was there but in the film, he was omitted from it. Lestat being there would make it more emotional and dramatic, and it's heavily hinted he killed her. But he did feel guilty about turning her into vampire too young. I think he truly loved her despite of what she did to him, but he wanted to 'save' Louis from her. It was interesting. But nevertheless, I still loved the film. I just wish it's a bit longer, adding more depths to it. Also, Kristen Dunst should have won Golden Globe for it because she was excellent at acting mature for her age.
And they're doing TV shows based on the book series. It will air on Amazon, I believe.
I hope a bear throw a book at you, moon at you, and do a tap dance wearing a thong and leather boots.
