He was, is, and will continue to be, my number one favourite actor of all time. I started following his career when I watched the movie Sid & Nancy. I know he hated that role and disliked his performance, but it was a pivotal point for many of us who are fans of his.

He can play anything - even when he was as drunk as a skunk back in the 1990's! He actually becomes the person he's playing. Amazing man.

I heard about his drinking proclivities. I'm surprised that he was able to be such a fantastic actor even when he was sloshed. There's nothing he can't do. A consummate actor as well given his real personality never comes out in any of the characters he plays.
