Nobody ever talks about when Leon almost kills Mathilda and I actually thought it was very important. I think he knew she could've ruined him to which she ultimately did but he accepted his fate.

Don't let Anthony Rocks know about this!
LOL
OK so where was this in the movie and how did M ruin L?
If you mean because she went to the DEA, they would have found him anyway when he murdered those agents in the Chinese place. -

Near the beginning when he accepts her( I've tried looking for a pic or clip but cant find it; which is also why I say people dont want to bring it up). He knows she's trouble and thinks about putting her out of her misery. Just before he tries to sleep.
Because he had a good life, peaceful, and relaxed which he enjoyed. But because of her he had to demise. The same thing with those agents. If it werent for her he would've done that.

Even without M something bad would have happened to him anyway. It would have caught up to him.
I still don't how M added to his demise though.
He killed those guys in the Chinese place and they would have still gone after him even if he didn't save M from the DEA offices. -

Not likely. The only people in the film that caused him trouble and ultimately gave him his demise were the deas. Now I those at the chinese place were also dea agents that he swept for Mathilda. The only people that hurt him and killed him were DEA. Without Mathilda they wouldnt have been after him.

I disagree.
At the Chinese place, those were the targets the mob wanted him to hit.
They were DEA agents undercover.
Did L know they were?
Who knows?
But I doubt he went after them at the Chinese place for M.
The only ones we know of that he knowing got for M was at their office.
And even if he hadn't gone after them the DEA, along with the NYPD, still would have gone after him because of just the Chinese place alone.
That is what made him an agent/cop killer first. -

you obviously dont have a good memory of the movie.
The Mob would never sent a hit to the dea. Everybody knew they were dea. He killed him not for a hit but because of Mathilda. It's clear when he says " No Women, No Children". He knew she wanted to kill them but wasnt going to allow that and did it for the code as well. We never see the Italians order such a hit or him collect because of it. It was free.
You think Leon didnt know who they were? When they were the same exact men who went to butcher at the apartment? Do you really think he was that stupid? He remembered everything. He knew who was Stansfeld way before the end, obviously. His last words were in honor of his entire deed. He didnt say you got me, or I'm going to get you back or something. It wasnt personal. He did it all for her. Obviously.
Again, the ones at the federal building wasnt because of him. It was because of her to rescue her.
Again, rewatch the film. They dont openly attack government officials cause they know it's not fair game. Just like he watched them butcher them and did absolutely nothing and almost didnt even open to the girl. If it wasnt for her crying pleads.
