Problem is what often happens when you mix film people with TV sketch comics.
Turns out feeling manufactured. No breathing room. Just a series of setups
around a meal or the job. Sandler gets some face time to work out his
persona and create his identity. But so much door in the face, gun in the
air stuff. Ends up with this wanta be quality. Wants to be a Woody Allen
farce or knock off Blake Edwards. Not Nora Ephron's best with such so
many sight gags and half ass 'show biz' music.
Won't check this peep hole more than the one run thru.

Luv bad Santa but this is a totally different type of film. Genuinely funny without all the gross language. And Adam Sandler plays himself in falsetto voice - never get enough of that..NOT.

Glad you liked Bad Santa, not everyone gets that wavelength. Dif moods for dif kind of holiday films.
I have some of my own favorite films for Holidays and one is Reindeer Games just for the title alone. IMDb scores are low for it but neat little thriller that just chases away the winter blues for me. Course also crave the faves from Jimmy Stewart to the one with Red Ryder bb gun, tongue on frozen pole.
23 in Man'h, feels 11. Cold off the Hudson and not even winter yet. Gotta stack of flickers to warm me up later. Been a few years since lower Hudson froze over and I'm still waiting for that to show up in a film for some reason, lol.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Not all of us (myself included) enjoy anal sex jokes on religious holidays. Seriously. Mixed Nuts manages to be absolutely hilarious without resorting to smut tactics.
