IMDB says Los Angeles, but where specifically. The area it's filmed at looks great, I would love to live there some day.
P.S. Is it the same place they filmed 'Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion' and 'Monster-in-Law'? Looks the same -

It's was filmed in Venice Beach, at least for all the exteriors. Interiors where probably a soundstage somewhere. Take a good like at the locations in the movie and go to Venice and you'll see them all.
