Tim Allen is so not funny. He's never been funny, whether on stand-up, his television show
Home Improvement
, or acting.
I disagree, he was perfect for the role in this film.
In the trivia, it says this movie was written with bill murray in mind. Why oh why didn't murray pan out? It'd be more enjoyable, though the plot would still stink highly.
Have you seen Bill Murray in
Scrooged (1988)
? It seemed as though the guy didn't even want to be there, and I could hardly sit through it as an adult. Even as a kid, I didn't find it as one of those memorable Holiday movies.
From what other posters on here have stated, they wanted to cast Chevy Chase as an alternative. That would have been another horrible idea. Chase is better suited for movies such as
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)

I enjoy the movie, but the fact that Freeform (which will always be ABC Family in my book) plays it over and over and over and over again between Thanksgiving and Christmas just made me lose interest in it.

What did Tim Allen do to you to make you feel this way? Everything you said about him is so hateful and false. The guy is a comic genius and the movie would've been crap with anyone else as lead. It's fine if you don't like the movie, just don't watch it. But it's obvious you have no sense of humor so I feel sorry for you and any unfortunate soul that has to sit with you through movies. Spending time with you afterwards must be torture.
