Check out these 3 links. Especially the first one on Bruce Greenwood's site. It looks like a done deal. Sometime before the end of 2005, I expect the Nowhere Man DVD.

Best Buy will honor a competitor's price. The Best Buy I went to on Tuesday only had two copies shipped to them that first day and they were priced $51.99. I asked if there was a discount since it had just come out. I was told that it normally is the 'big' releases that are on sale when they are first released. When I told her that amazon.com had the set for 34.99 with free shipping she pulled it up on the internet to verify and then wrote out a special price voucher for $34.99 to take to the register.

What do they have it priced at? walmart i mean. Not a big fan of the wally world, but if its the best price, i'll head on up there. I haven;t seen it in any of my local used dvd stores (which I guess is a good thing, shows that its a damn good set and people aren't willing to part with it).

Borders carries it, but it's more expensive than Amazon (USD 49.00 v.s. 39.00), but once you factor in the cost of shipping, it comes out nearly even. I just picked my copy up at a Borders store. Currently, I'm watching the first disk and am happy with everything so far, including the technical aspects of the dvd, extras, and the show (which I had never seen but wanted to based on reviews on Amazon).

Yes, the series has been released. It is a lovely DVD set, complete with many features. It came out toward the end of 2005. It's 9 discs, and a lovely compilation. We'll just say I pre-ordered it well in advance, and got a nice discount. Look it up on dvdpricesearch.com for current best prices.
For trivia's sake. Today (2-15-06) DVDEmpire is basically beating everyone on price ($33.54 + S&H. Free S&H if you buy 3 or more items in one order) online. They're my preferred retailer outside of Amazon and BestBuy (if and when their prices are as good or better). Next is Deep Discount DVD (who I haven't tried, but would consider a 1.5-2nd tier eTailer, but good on price) at $33.25 (better price, just not as sure about their site, and customer service, having not tried them; when comparably priced, I prefer DVDEmpire). Then overstock.com at $34.24, and DVDplanet/Amazon both right around $37/each +/- a few cents.
In closing, love the show, love the treatment on DVD. Am currently rewatchign it back to back on DVD, and picking up a lot of stuff I missed the first time around (having not seen the final episode). Honestly, if you watch the final episode, then re-watch the series, it takes on a rather different tone/meaning, and you catch A LOT of little details and hints throughout the show. But don't watch the last episode until last until you really want the spoiler. I recoommend watching from the beginning and forgetting the last episode if you ever saw it initially, just to get the whole experience of the series without the baggage of having seen how it ends. But once you DO see the ending, definitely re-watch the series and pick up all the subtle and not so subtle little hints they dropped (intentionally or not) throughout the series about where it was going.
