Guys,
According to Video Scan (the inventory management system that lets
home entertainment distributors know how their product is selling)
Nowhere Man - The Complete Series sold a whopping 114 copies last week
on a shipment of roughly 10,000 units. Image had projections of
25,000 but with all those returns it will qualify as an unmitigated
disaster.
It's a total catch-22 since they won't advertise anymore unless they
see improved sales and sales won't improve unless they advertise.
Is our favorite show really so out of the main stream that people
won't evne get the chance to discover it on DVD?
Any ideas on how to right this horrible injustice?
Does anyone know any print/broadcast/online journalists who can help
spread the word? Any bloggers who will talk about it? Any highly
trafficked sites that are willing to put up a banner ad at no cost?
Anything?????????????????? -

The price of the DVD has been discussed in a different thread. Here's what I had posted there (someone else said that Walmart is also honoring amazon's price)
Best Buy will honor a competitor's price. The Best Buy I went to on Tuesday only had two copies shipped to them that first day and they were priced $51.99. I asked if there was a discount since it had just come out. I was told that it normally is the 'big' releases that are on sale when they are first released. When I told her that amazon.com had the set for 34.99 with free shipping she pulled it up on the internet to verify and then wrote out a special price voucher for $34.99 to take to the register.

but I was mainly just replying to the main post and the price issue was part of my response.
I think you misunderstood the intent of my previous post. I did not mean that you should have posted your question to the other thread!
I was just trying to be helpful and didn't realize that it would be taken the other way. Guess it came out a bit more blunt than I thought! Sorry!
Glad I could help out and I hope you enjoy the series
. Be sure to check back in and tell us all what you think!

To bad its not selling well but I don't think there was much of a chance of seeing anything new come out of this series anyway. To bad though, I think if this series were created today on a better network or cable it would be a huge hit. I'm just glad I got my copy of the series and can enjoy it again. I've always kicked myself for not recording this when it first aired.

Most likely nobody knew it was being released except the rabid few who saw it the first time and have been jonesing for a fix since then. And it has been 10 years since it was originally on the air. And it never got re-run really. May have simply slipped out of popular consciousness. Or maybe THEY just don't want the truth to get out. THEY want to erase it from existence Any trace that it ever even EXISTED.
