Is it true alot of Xena fans don't like Kevin Sorbo?

Lucy appears to be a much warmer person than him, so with her, every nice thing she does looks genuine and from the heart.
When it comes from him, it always looks like he's got an ulterior motive. Like a politician. In this case, he's probably trying to repair his reputation. Doesn't seem to be working. Even the way he smiles, it's so fake.
Lucy seems to glow with genuine goodness in every picture I see of hers. -

Yeah, someone who has expressed homophobia, transphobia, anti -semitism, racism, and intolerance toward
other beliefs, or lack thereof, that isn't Christianity is a great person.
Not to mention what a bitter little a-hole he is toward Xena being more successful than his mediocre show.
Why would the majority of Xena fans have any reason to like some smug twit who
dismissed Xena as "that lesbian show" and tried to say Lawless only got the role because she was sleeping with Tapert? -

Me as well. Had the pleasure to meet him at one of his charity events. He's done so much for children's charities both domestically and for foreign aid. I have no doubt he is one of the good guys out there BUT in this highly divisive nation, some of his views aren't embraced by all. But that's true no matter who you point out because the nation is so diverse.

Both Kevin Sorbo and Lucy Lawless seem like unpleasant and arrogant people to me. I guess the antagonism between them and their fanbases is kind of comparable to Republicans vs. Democrats. But I don't think Kevin Sorbo is simply jealous. He seems mostly irritated that his own show got neglected in favour of Xena. Openly suggesting that this happened because Lucy Lawless was sleeping with the producer may not be the most decent thing to do, but that doesn't mean it's not true. I personally believe it's one of the reasons.

Hard to argue with that. They still both managed to have respectable careers long after their series' ended so perhaps it worked out well in the end.

Xena was better than Hercules in every way. And of course the show being more successful it's eventually going to garner more attention from tptb. Is it fair, no. Does it mean you have to take it out on the actor? No.
The Flash stole Arrow's shine but even Stephen Amell (who can be irritating) isn't bitter about Grant Gustin. -

Did you even read my post? I said it's not as simple as Xena just being more popular.
And I definitely don't agree Xena was better in every way. They were both entertaining shows in their early years, but the writing and acting in neither was ever something to brag about. -

There is a rift but it can be for a number of reasons. I suspect it is because he definitely did (right or wrong) believe there was preferential treatment to Xena at the cost of his own show. He might well been correct but fans of Xena typically wouldn't appreciate that. He is conservative which isn't as popular today. Most people live and let live but we live in the age of special snowflakes and any difference is met with harsh treatment. So there are a few possibilities.
But, I like Xena (not Lawless in particular) and I like Sorbo very much, Upstanding and charitable and takes the time for his fans. Despite lots of injuries he still made a lot of efforts to help others and ensure those reliant upon his show were also taken care of. So you will have some fans who don't like him and many who do
