Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Xena: Warrior Princess

Why not bring Lucy and Renee back for the reboot and call it "Xena: Warrior Queen". They can still add some younger characters to appeal to the CW crowd, it would be a "win win" for everyone.

      Hello, robrocker74!!!
I agree with you! I was watching "Ash vs Evil Dead" and I saw a scene where she appeared naked (I guess it was not a body double) and I thought "She still looks good!".
Then I remembered that Arnold Schwarzenegger (who doesn't look so good anymore) wanted to revive the character Conan not as young Conan, the Barbarian, but as Conan, King and tell the stories of his times as a ruler.
Well, Xena's title is honorific, that is, she not a real princess, so there's no kingdom to rule. But she could come back as this powerful warrior, that trains new, young warriors to fight for the greater good. The young ones could do all the heavy action scenes and, when needed, CGI could be used (kinda like they will probably do with Luke Skywalker in Episode VIII).
Unfortunately, this is not gonna happen (except in our dreams) and, although Lucy will always be Xena for us, TPTB will do the new series as they please and according to the spirit of our times. It's like Star Trek: new fans will grow up with Zachary Quinto as Spock and dismiss the original series as too childish.
      Best wishes
      Rowanna

I agree she looks great and could totally reprise her role. It appears to be Universal that is calling all the shots though. Lucy isn't interested in doing the series again. She was only interested in a movie to fix the ending for fans. She's busy on Ash vs Evil Dead anyways.

She's the reason I tuned in to Spartacus. The show grew on my from there.

She's "too old" despite only being in her 40s. Actors however, can be 70-80 and still play their iconic characters though.
