He breaks down and just bawls his eyes out. I don't think I've ever seen him do that in a movie before. Breaks my heart every time I watch it.

Definetely one of the best acting scenes in his legendary career. It really is, you really feel bad for him. Great scene in the film, besides the final scene with him & Morse.
