Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Last of the Dogmen

I was watching this movie at somebody's house on tv but only got to see the first hour of it. Can someone just tell me if the dog dies? I'm going to be thoroughly annoyed if so. Zip rules and I hate animal violence (or any sadistic violence actually) in movies. I know, over-sensitive but I can't help it.

Nope, the dog gets hurt and the little girl takes care of him. So I'm spoiling the ending for you, your going to have to rent or watch it again.

My only hope for Zippy the Dog. I am glad he doesn't die. You didn't spoil the movie for me. You make me actually want to watch all of it.

It's a good movie to watch, just a pain to find since I don't think it's out on dvd yet.

I'm the same way. I couldn't enjoy Cowboys & Aliens until I knew the dog wasn't going to die.

I have not seen the film in so long I cannot remember the mise en scene. But I was flown into Banff on the last weekend of the original shoot to play a dogcatcher who comes after Zip. I did not catch him, but cannot remember what happened. We were in a building, probably the courthouse, and there was a young actor playing a deputy. The dog chewed on the deputy's pants leg, and I remember several takes trying to get the action sequence down. The director/writer was at odds with the producer and they literally got into a fist fight on the set. It was a very discomforting set go work on. Unfortunately my entire scene was edited out of the final cut. Therefore I did not appear in the credits nor receive any residuals. C'est le guerre
