Its a great movie. Very very good! I am surprised it isn't available on DVD anymore! Thats ridiculous.
Off the subject, I wish they would release the TV Series Eight is Enough, but apparently they won't!!!
"Ethel Thayer". It sounds like I'm lisping, doesn't it? Norman Thayer -

Currently "Last of the Dogmen" is very much OOP, which in common terms means "Out of Print". It is a hot seller on Amazon.com. Numerous copies can be found in used, and new condition. It all depends on how you would like to have it, used means you would like to view it on a steady basis, and the new ones are either for collectors or investors that what to receive an item fully knowing that it's not an import, bootleg or something else. New condition is usually straight from the factory to the retailer to the consumer. Hope that helped out!

Hi Brewlite!
It's been a year since your posting, but I just came across an answer to your question about how to turn off the narration. Another poster gave this info:
"Go to the 'Languages' section on the DVD..choose the Director's audio version."
Hope that helps!

Hi there, Sheila
Thanks for the reply. Well, on which release would I find the director's audio version?
Is it on the UK-release which is quite a bargain at eBay (the one with the dark red cover), or is it on the very expensive, much rarer DVD?
Best,
Brew -

P.S. I have new information regarding the pictured DVD. Finally one of the sellers I asked for it, has replied with the following:
"The DVD also allows you to turn off the voice over and has bonus material:- a Director's commentary
- an Original Costume Sketch Gallery
- the Original Theatrical trailer and TV spots, and
- three featurettes: "The Story," "Building the Cheyenne Village," and a "Behind the Scenes" montage."
But this is the Region 2 DVD for Europe & the UK.
Anyway, VLC player will play it.
Sorry folks, all of the above is wrong: There are no interactive menus, no two audio tracks, no trailers, or any of the listed extras; BUT - and this is good news! - the audio track is actually the "director's audio" without any annoying narrator's voice.
So, it's very okay with me.

Yikes Eight Is Enough . Wow your talking late 70's on that one. I was about 18 then. Did you know Susan Richardson that played the oldest of the eight is broke and has a lot of health problems even down to having no teeth. Poor thing, she never had any career after the show was canceled.

I have been looking in used stores forever for this movie and they say they have tons of request for it. I think when they look it up on the computer and find out its oop and what they can get for it, it never goes up for sale in these stores. It goes on the internet. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd love to have it to but not gonna spend that much $$$. Wish it would come out in blu-ray. I put it on my DVR from HD TV. I think its coming on several times in the near future if that works for you. Otherwise if Netflix or Blockbuster doesn't have it for rent, your out of luck. Berenger has several movies in this same situation. I guess those that own them don't feel they would make enough $$$ to re-release them. Good luck.

The region 2 DVD has a 2.0 stereo soundtrack stated on the box but actually has a very fine surround soundtrack with a lot of nice ambient sounds and effects
The version I have is the Pathe! one.
I think you can buy it on Amazon.co.uk for
a reasonable price.
