It was such a wonderful story, very moving but unfortunately I could not watch all of it. I watched up to the bit where they've left Salome nad they're about to cross the border but the germans start shooting everyone.
- Does the father die?
- what happens to salome, the father (if not dead) and the mother and anything else
Could you just tel me what happens after this scene, my thouhts are that the father dies and the woman is taken away by the soilders and raped just like in the woman in the story.

After that scene, the mother is taken away to some type of German camp. The father lives in a farm house.
1)No, he does not.
2)Salome marries a guy whom Henri likes. The father and the mother reunite with their daughter, Salome at the end. -

I'm not sure what you meant by "like the woman in the story" because no one is raped. If you mean Fantine, she was a prostitute. Anyways, Mrs. Ziman wasn't raped and such, she was taken to a camp and eventually found her daughter. As for Mr. Ziman, he does not die and is taken by a man to his house and taken care of for two years (he was shot many times in the leg) there. Eventually at the end Salome is reunited with her parents and get's married.
