When this film was released, how was it released? Wide release or just select cities? Straight to video? Also, does anyone know what kind of reception it recieved initially?

This film was released nationwide in early November 1995. Although Leo's performance was considered outstanding by most, people often complained about the movie's plot itself as well as other actor's they used in it.
