I agree. I really enjoyed this one, so funny and memorable in it's own right! The other twomeh. They kept needlessly expanding upon the creatures' life cycle. Why? Even the Alien films with their complex life cycle didn't expand it THAT far.
Though in the later sequels' defense, the reason noone knew about the Graboids till recent years, was because of the eggs that lived for an indefinite amount of time unhatched, based on what we see in the 4th film. So in other words, they lied dormant for millennia unhatched. That does explain a lot.
Still though, over-explaining/expanding upon seems unnecessary to me. Nothing wrong with a bit of mystery. Should have stopped after 2. -

I don't know if they should have stopped at 2, because I thought Bloodlines was pretty good (our posts are the only two made since its release), I just wish they'd made 3 and 4 a little better. Or a lot better. On paper they're not bad ideas though, a film starring Burt back in Perfection with a lot of the original supporting cast, and a prequel about Burt's ancestor fighting Graboids in the Old West. I was excited about both ideas, it was just the execution that was lacking. They still had their moments though, but overall they were a far cry from 1 and 2.
