Saw waterworld 1995 and i just finished it again. It really has stood the test of time.
Actually i enjoyed it a lot more this time.
Costner is great and the little girl is charming and funny. The movie has good balance of action and humour. -

Enjoyed this movie much more than I thought I would after watching it for the first time today. I honestly admit I had not taken the time out to watch this because of its reputation and will say that I was led astray. WW is not THE GODFATHER or anything like that but it kept my attention for two and a quarter hours when I thought my intelligence would be insulted the whole time. Glad to say I was wrong and happier to say I may have to purchase this one day.
'Cause I'm Black you think I did it? -

I think the majority of the people who say it was a bad movie have never actually seen it, and only know it flopped in the box office. I saw it in the theater when it came out in '95 and loved it. I'm actually the only person I know other than the friend I was with, and my dad (I was 10) who saw it in theaters, so that's how bad it did. I bought it on VHS as soon as it came out and none of my friends nor myself could understand hay this movie wasn't popular the way Jurassic Park and Independence Day, which both came out around the same time, were.

This movie is a classic, some of the most iconic sets and sequences in any action movie. Another movie like this will never happen again so I'm thankful this exists, an easy 9 for me. One of my favorites as a kid. This movie has lots of cool concepts even if it takes a lot of suspending your disbelief.

So wrong.
I've seen Waterworld at least 15 times, and I am NEVER bored or disappointed. Costner is great, but Tina Majorino is the real juice. I have adored her ever since these childhood performances and now look for her work whenever it appears. Her scenes in Waterworld with Deacon and Nord are my favorite moments she is as tough as any female superhero even though she's only 10. -

totally! movies like this aren't made now and it really is quite a spectacle.. no cgi vomit being hurled at me like i'm watching a videogame cutscene which is what most movies are like now. sure if the ice caps melted it couldn't cover the entire earth in water but besides that i've never found any problems with this movie, the fact that so many people hate it has always eluded me it's just fiction
