Wondering about where they got weapons and why the girl cant swim. She just havent learned it yet, big whoop. And weapons is and can be found in w/e place you'd like. There will be alot of floating debris in a world like that
What you should wonder about is how someone can evolve usefull functions in only a few generations the odds of that happening is one in one fantasy-illion if not even more. Thats is so much lower odds then finding some wepoans its not even imaginable

Agreed! The mariner adapting like a fish is an interesting idea which is open to interpretation. And of course Helen was very protective of Enola so no duh she couldn't swim.

why was water so valuable when it was EVERYWHERE around them?
Why was dirt so valuable when it was EVERYWHERE below them?
Are you thinking they could not use it?
Water (salt water included) can be purified very easily with the most basic tools. All you need is to evaporate water, and catch the steam with something that drains into a cup. Its called distilling water. and its basic survival information.
Everyone would die of dehydration if it was so hard to get even like 50ml of water.
Dirt can be harvested with weighted buckets dragged to the surface.
People WASTE bullets/gasoline like its limitless, when there is absolutely no way they could ever replace it.
Not knowing how to swim in a world full of water is like not knowing how to walk in our world. Its like saying "yeah it makes sense that her daughter still cant walk even though shes like 9 years old, her moms very protective of her"
Even if it was supposed to symbolize that she was used to living on land (and thats why she had the map/key thingy) it takes very little effort to learn to swim. They didnt have an afternoon to teach her how to NOT die if she fell in the water? the water which is EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK.
the mermaid had a urine purifying machine. Which made no sense whatsoever. Why would he make that before a water distiller?
Those beads n beep buddy had for his insanely complicated timing machine. All of his "technology" was retardidly specific. I mean, couldnt he find anything useful if he found all that beep wherever he did?
The entire story is just painfully bad. Its fun as hell and i personally like the movie, but it has so many problems its not even funny. What i have listed is just random beep ithought of. Literally every scene is like its written by a sheltered 12 year old that doesnt know much about life yet.

first off all i can understand her not knowing how to swim even though the world is covered by water.
people swim for a completely different reason in our time then they would in that time. we mainly swim for fun. and to cool off on a hot day
they literally live in a world full of water. what fun would it be to swim
also. who knows. maybe they have other factors for her not learning to swim like toxic levels of water, those giant fish etc etc.
maybe she was kept indoors most of the time because of her back tattoo

i choose to believe that the mutants were relics of science
some scientists could have genetically engineered a group of people to be able to survive the way he does

"There will be a lot of floating debris in a world like that"? Yeah, I've seen lots of rifles and bullets floating down the river. It's not like they're heavy enough to sink.
