So just how good is this movie?

COTCgirl, so you're avid fangirlism somehow makes you qualified to tell us that Josiah is not HWBTR but is in fact possessed by him? Funny, you don't seem qualified to make that claim unless you're involvement with this franchise extends beyond an annoying rabid fan who won't shut up.
[All of the kids who are possessed are HWWBTR because HWWBT]
Then why weren't they called He who walks Behind the Rows too? Why is it that only he, out of all the possessed preachers is called He Who Walks Behind the Rows?
Listen annoying little fan person, if you are going to speculate do so, but don't shoot down other people's theories without something more concrete than rabid fanboysim
[You're basically saying what I'm saying. Josiah would be HWWBTR if he was possessed by the deity because like all of the others HWWBTR would take over his body which means the deity would be INSIDE of his soul and body.]
How could Josiah have been possessed if he was already dead? His soul had already been sold for etenral youth.

No, the kid even said that he didn't have much knowledge of the series before that and probably still doesn't. COTCgirl obviously does. I don't think the kid even understand that he was possessed by HWWBTR.

"The Gathering" was my favorite of the sequels.

Number ranks 5th in how I rate my series. Now, in defense of, COTCgirl, I know that she is a huge fan of these series. How do I know this? I asked her questions, and she answered them very well.

This IS the best of the sequels. I liked it that it was not set in Gatlin, I mean come on, after all the sh*t in the first 3, you think people would not want to live there. Naomi Watts of course, does a great job with the part she had, and the rest of the cast is well acted too exspecially Karen Black as the fruit-loop mother. Visually the movie perfoms well too. Most of the time the outside scenes are all bathed in a deep sunset and it relly makes you feel the eerie silence of being out in the country.
The gore is nice and lots of vicious Scythe kills. CHILDREN OF THE CORN 6 was ok, but even John Franklin's return couldn't save that one. Overall COTC IV is very underatted and has alot more going for it than most people give it credit for. -

A very belated reply but I watched this the other night and in my opinion it is the best of the series with good special effects. The various children act impressively, especially young James, played by Mark Salling. I give episode no. IV 8 marks out of ten.
