GOOD!! I've just finished watching this on the Sci-fi Channel and my enjoyment of it was severely curtailed by the fact that they played it, at full volume, seemingly every 5 minutes. In small doses, yes it would have been pretty good, but they put it on too often whenever there was a "heartfelt" moment or when we were meant to be "inspired".. to such an extent that I felt like throttling the guy who composed the bl**dy thing in the first place. WE DON'T NEED IT RAMMED DOWN OUR THROATS, YA KNOW. Unfortuntely, some chap who designs a lot of trailers in Hollywood heard this "masterwork".. and has recycled the same theme time and time again in at least twenty previews I've seen since this movie came out. AARGGHH!! PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!
P.S, I feel exactly the same way about Braveheart, however the underlying film was enough to detract the flaws. Dragonheart, on the other hand.. -

Awww, I LOVE the soundtrack! Bought it as soon as I figured out what it was from (they do use it for so many movie previews). But it;s a great soundtrack for gazing out of the window while your in a car or train (as long as you aren't drivingLOLeyes on the road!).

Randy Edelman should've got much more good critisism and publicity for this score. Its probably one of the best (IMHO) scores and music pieces ever made, since it has been used in March of the Penguins, Mulan, Seven Years in Tibet to Anna and the King and alot more

Because the movie had negative reviews, and wasn't a serious Oscar player in major categories. The only composer who can be nominated for a good score in a bad movie is John Williams, because he gets it on his name alone - and, conversely, that name recognition also got him default nominations for mediocre scores in good movies, one of which was Sleepers, which was nominated the year Dragonheart was snubbed.
