Pretty sure she's half white or something but I wonder if Arnold doesn't like darker women? He was born 2 years after the end of WWII in Austria, after all. Never know, all I'm saying. I don't know the guy, so I can't make that call.

I'm glad this movie did not waste its time with a mundane love story. I mean, it probably could have worked if Arnold and Vanessa had more chemistry, but that's not what they were going for in the movie (they did look good together, though). So in the end, it would've been unconvincing and cliche if their characters fell in love.
In any case, seeing Vanessa in some steamy scene would have been very satisfying.
Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry! -

I agree, a romance would have been silly and distracting. The plot was complicated enough at times w\o adding a "love" angle. Sly Stallone and Sharon Stone in The Specialist as a couple works okay b\c it fits into why he stuck with her despite her shady background.
In real life Arnie would have at least tried to boink Vanessa b\c she is so freaking yummy in this movie. Can you imagine a sex scene between the two like Stallone and Stone? Might have pumped up DVD sales!
