This is probably my favourite role of Sally's and her acting is so real in it that it's shocking, Kiefer Sutherland plays the most sick, f'd up bad guy in this movie, it has so much suspense and it's into it from the start, try bringing up some proper arguments for this movie, rather than just "Agreed" or the nonsense written by the OP.

You may like it but that doesn't mean that everyone else has to.
I saw this movie for the first time last night on one of the digital channels.
I said to myself, "Wow! Sally Field? Ed Harris? Kiefer Sutherland? I have to check this out! Why haven't I ever heard of this movie?"
I got my answer after seeing it. I had to check my guide to make sure I wasn't tuned in to the Lifetime channel. It's the sort of predictable overly contrived drivel you can find there.
You enjoyed it. Fine. I didn't. Different strokes for different folks.

It is a movie about every parents worst nightmares, their child raped, beaten and murdered and worst to hear the whole thing even hearing them calling for you but there is nothing you can do even when the system fails you on a technicality. How do you "just let it go and move on"? I loved this movie, it got my grateful for my family.

It was a strange but enjoyable film. I felt a mix of thoughts and emotions about it.
Julie's death made me sad.
The killer was funny and creepy at the same time.
The rape scenes were terrifying.
The director was imaginative, I'll give him that. Like when Sally Field was imagining random men at the park being Julie's killer.
The twist about her lesbian friend at the support group being an undercover cop was random, they didn't really expand much on that. It guess it was something different to her just being the generic best friend character.
The part where Sally Field assaulted the man in the park who she thought was following her was odd. It started off suspenseful, but then turned comedic when she walked away smiling about it.
The cinematography was beautiful, I love mid 90s cinematography.
The little girl who played Megan was a good actress.
The husband was actually a nice character. In other films like this, the husband often turns out to be a loser and/or unsupportive. I also liked the detective.
The ending was predictable and rushed.
