Ha! You're correct of course. My mind had fused those two scenes into one. I suppose
    BOTH
of them are my favorites. Can I do that??

Yeah, easily understood - after you've seen it enough times, both are so memorable yet similar. Definitely wasn't burning, just was clarifying.
I'm more than a little familiar with the Twin Cities, so they stuck out for me as such clearly different locations, but if you're not then yeah confusing them is easy. It's just a long ride up I-35 to check it out for you at least. 😛
And yes, you're absolutely allowed to love all "Buscemi in a car pissed at somebody" scenes I think. hehe

The guy shovelling his driveway talking to the deputy.. I grew up in small town Minnesota and that's EXACTLY the way people talk.

The part after Gyre is putting Carl's foot through the wood chipper and Marge is yelling at him to put his hands up but he can't hear her. Then he turns around, sees her, and throws a wooden board at her that hits her very lightly. She isn't even stunned by it. I find this funny cause he is pretty strong in a lot of other scenes but can't throw a board hard enough to hurt someone. 🙂
                Green Goblin is great!

My favorites are that single still shot that stays in my head of the foot sticking up in the machinethe guys are such morons they create all that trouble out of nothinghe has over $950,000 and he's fighting over paying a multiple murderer for half a crappy car! And next thing we see of him is that foot. LOLOL
The girls interviewed earlier in the movie never grow oldthe "funny little guy" and if he's funny besides not being circumcised, the "Marlboro" man who smokes Marlboros.then the kind of deadpan interview with the man clearing snow from his driveway completes the citizen inputall so accepting of absolutely bizarre things. No one gave a 2d thought to any of it until someone else points out the significance. The entire movie is that vein of the absurd made commonplaceI love it so much! It's brilliant!

I always laughed at when Marge is questioning the 2 young hookers, and the one mentions where she's from and what high school she went to, and slips in a "Go bears"..
And for some reason I crack up at the way Marge says "He's fleeing the interview!"

Yeah, little things like that add so much to a movie and many script writers don't understand how to do that effectively as it is done here.

Some other things that struck me funny:
Gaer eating his TV dinner, watching a soap opera, his facial reaction to when the woman says "I'm pregnant" cracks me up
Marge lecturing Gaer (who's murdered 5 people) as if he were a naughty 5th grader
                        And of course Accordion King!

In a way I think that's the whole point of the movie. This is real Heartland of America stuff, and the Midwesterners in it are corny as hell in a hundred ways and not 'hip' or 'with it' at all, but with few exceptions their basic values are so sound that even the Chief of Police cannot begin to fathom murder for financial gain.

That's actually one of my favorite scenes in any movie ever. She's just found a dead woman in a cabin and this dude jamming up a wood chipper with his partner, but she still wants to try to help him see the err of his ways. She's just so unshakably goodhearted. Then she gets home to her husband and he tells her that his mallard was put on the three-cent stamp, and when he sounds a little sad that he didn't win the contest, she still encourages him and tells him to look on the bright side.
Even though she could probably be like, "Oh your mallard didn't place higher? That's a shame. What's that? How was my day? I'm glad you asked. I finally got to the bottom of the triple homicide case, found two more dead bodies one of which was in a WOODCHIPPER! I had a log chunked at me by a crazy Marlboro man and had to detain him by myself all while being SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT! That's how my day was and I am so glad you asked! Oh wait, ya didn't!"
Marge is one of my all-time favorite movie characters because she is just so unshakably good.
                            TL,DR: I want ice cream.

All Marge really knows about them is one is a big fella that smokes Marloboros, the other one is smaller and funny lookin', and they drive a tan Sierra. Yet these two dunderheads are squabbling over the only real piece of evidence she has on them. Such morons !

I don't know why but I always lose it when Marge has a little slip when she's going down the snow bank to investigate the overturned car. It's just the silliness and every day of it, during such a serious time and the fact it has no real purpose in the movie, but there it is. It just cracks me up.
Obviously there are loads more brilliant moments, and I doubt anyone will even agree with mine, but I guess that's the genius of the Coens.

The are many of them, but the first one I laughed at is when she's inspecting the body in the upside down car, sees that there's a shot in the head and the hand, and puts her hand up to her head to imitate, and says:
                                      "I guess that's a defensive wound."
                                      I laughed at that.
