This is one of my favorite action films. In fact,
I love every single part of it
    EXCEPT
    her line, "suck my d*ck"!
I own the DVD and have watched it numerous times yet I
    still
just can never seem to let that line pass.
It makes no sense to me at all (why would a woman ever say that??) and hearing it always pulls me away from the film.
I honestly thought it was the worst choice for a line that could have been made until I read your post, Ljosmakken. Your 'humerous' idea was neither humerous nor appropriate it was just downright offensive.

In 1995, a year before this movie came out, I started hearing a few girls in my high school use this phrase. They were saying it ironically and it really made me do a double take, because really, why would a girl say that? The girls that I heard use this phrase were very much like Charli Baltamore. They were feisty and tough and had attitudes. Anyway, by the time this movie came out I didn't even bat an eye because I'd heard it before and that's the kind of thing a badass woman like Charli would say. It's just a crude insult and therefore true to the character. However, since Long Kiss Goodnight I don't really think I've heard this insult used anymore. It's kind of a phrase that seems to have faded out with the 90s.

1995 was a good year. Miss the good ole days.

Are you kidding me? I use that line all the time. Someone's pissing you off there's no better way to stun them and shut them up. It's a line that you need balls to pull off. See there's another common phrase that's all about men's genetalia.
As you're offended by the alternative, what would your replacement suggestion be?

            That's
            exactly
why, & I couldn't have said it better myself.
And for the OP, your suggestion is just stupid & you missed the point. I know this thread was made long before the song came out but go watch Jessie J's "Do it Like a Dude" video if you're in need of a visual explanationit's an expression & it isn't about physically possessing that particular body part.

              When I think of
              The Long Kiss Goodnight
all I remember is the profanity coming out of Geena Davis' mouth. I had forgotten what she had said that jarred me so much, but now that I see this thread, I remember it. I've seen the movie only once, on the big screen, when it first came out and that's all I remember of it: Geena Davis' mouthing off profanities (as scene closers if I recall correctly?)
WatchCat, I so agree with you. It makes no sense at all. I just read a quote by Shane Black, the writer, and he said
"Dialogue can be fun but most people don't study it."
Amazing he'd say this after writing that line.
I wonder whether if it was any other actress that had been cast in this part, would they have said that line? I have no idea what made Geena Davis agree to go down in history as having uttered this line or even pretend any other decent woman would say such thing.
Maybe because they paid $4 million for the screenplay had something to do with it. Who has the guts to find fault with a screenplay that a studio paid $4 million for?

You should watch it again. It is so much better with a few friends in a small setting. We laughed and laughed the 2nd time.

Why can't a woman use it? It's meant as an insult, not an invite; so the "she doesn't have one" argument has no legs to stand on.

It was much better in "Lake Placid" when Betty White said "This is the part where if I had a dick I'd tell you to suck it".

Betty White in that movie is f-cking hilarious. Nobody expected her to be that way, which is why it was great.

In The Hangover, Ed Helms' bitchy girlfriend said "Suck my dick" to Zach Galifianakis for comedic effect, after Helms broke up with her.

It kinda reminds me of that line in Heathers when Shannen Doherty as Heather Duke says to Winona Ryder, "Veronica, why are you pulling my dick?" as if the say "Why are you **cking with me?"
It's just a bad ass thing for a girl to say.

Obviously it is a subjective thing.
Fortunately, it mostly went out with the 90's, like grunge music, and that is a good thing.
I always thought it was a lame line and a lamer insult for a woman to use. Hell, its a lame insult for men to use. I have never uttered it.
It does work for men as an insult at least since they actually have one.
Women should stick with their own genitalia, and get over the fact that they don't have a penis.
