I wish for a Scream 5! With the internet, Facebook, Twitter, and any other online outlet. Why can't we get a 5?

Because the great one is no longer with us. R.I.P. Wes.

Because we don't need one. The story has been told. And told, and told, and told

Used to, I would have agreed. But only would've wanted it with Craven. And I feel like Scre4m was a decent note for him to go out on. If they did a fifth one now, it would just really be stretching it thin and really feel like it never ended. Scre4m ended a bit more open than I would've liked, and I do wish they'd have killed one of the three leads, but overall, I feel like it was a good enough ending. Plus, each film has something they play on: horror, sequels, trilogies, reboots/remakes. What would a fifth play on? Franchises that go on too long? Not to mention that in Scre4m, Jenny mentions that Stab 5 "has time travel and is by far the worst." I wouldn't want a Scream with time travel. Plus, most horror franchises have the same killer throughout, with the victims changing. Granted, that makes it hard to believe the villain is ever really dead. But this series does the opposite: same core victims, different killers. Which makes each entry a bit less plausible, that someone is surrounded by so many would-be killers waiting to snap.

I'm still kicking my ass for not catching a chance to see Scream 4 in theaters (thanks money issues) had high hopes for a Scream 5. But after the ever-awesome Wes Craven passed away
, I instantly knew that any chance on there being a Scream 5 died with him. What pains me even more is Scream 4's ending, it felt so open-ended, obviously setting up a sequel. I watch that ending, agonized in pain knowing that Scream 5 will never happen. I will forever miss any more future adventures with Sidney Prescott (my favorite horror heroine), Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers.
I've only seen bits and pieces of the MTV series, I'm gonna try to get around to watching it, but it won't be the same without the original cast.

I'm pretty sure you are in the minority on that one.
