Anyone else notice that the style of the animation has changed a little by Season 4? It seems a bit messy and simplistic to me. Not as skillful as previously.

That's because they decided to animate the remainder of the show through Flash animation, as opposed to traditional hand-drawn animation, which is how seasons 1-3 were animated.
Quite frankly, I prefer the animation of the previous 3 seasons, but the flash animated seasons weren't too bad.

It’s due to the animation switching from traditional cel animation to digital ink and paint.

While digital ink and paint does have its place, the switch can be jarring when watching it on dvd.
So many stories, so little time.
