Honestly just wondering, considering this is a spin-off of B&B.

B&B didn't need to be there, because they wouldn't have fit the tone of the show. They weren't animated in the same style. That said, I do think that the show should have casually mentioned them more than they did (which was virtually never.)
Daria
went a little too far out of its way to disassociate from its root show. The "Boxing Daria" episode would have been a good chance to recall Beavis and Butthead. -

Perhaps but I think it fit her personality. I couldn't imagine Daria actually even remembering Beavis and Butthead much less reminisce about them.

I agree. I feel maybe she evolved from hanging out with them, even though she only did it to piss off her parents. Jane is her new outcast friend.

Did she actually hang out with them? I just remember her living in the same neighborhood as them and therefore being witness to their moronic misadventures.

i could be remembering wrong, they could have at the most, interacted with each other during school, and maybe they only hung out once for a project or something.

Yeah, that's more like it. There is no way Daria would willingly hang out with those clowns.

I don't know if 'hanging out' is the most accurate way to describe it, although she may have done it one or two times, but [on
Beavis and Butthead
] Daria would quite often inadvertently find herself in their orbit and having to deal with them, so much so that they became more than just passing acquaintances and they arguably were significant figures in her daily life.
Like, for instance, an episode of
Beavis and Butthead
spoofs
It's a Wonderful Life,
and Butthead sees a happier Daria with a boyfriend. Apparently without he and Beavis around, her image of boys hadn't been destroyed, and as a result she wasn't so dour and anti-social.
So, at least in the B+B universe, the three had a semi-significant connection. And in the official comic books, a disgruntled Daria actually does hangs out with them quite a bit.
