If Beavis and butthead can, Daria should. I may have been a kid when Daria was popular but it's still far better than anything on now on mtv

The "Beavis and Butt-Head" spinoff would be more timely than "Beavis
      and Butt-Head" itself.

I'd die for a new series, but failing that, I think a special of some kind would be amazing.
Like, how about a movie surrounding their high school's ten year reunion? That's a solid premise and you could have a lot of fun with it.

Part of me would love to see it, but another part of me doesn't want any part of it. I feel like they went out on a respectable note and there's no reason to drag the show out again to appease the fanbase or make a quick buck for MTV. Daria was very much a thing of the '90s and should stay that way.

I'm on the fence too. The whole 90s-ness is a huge part of the show's charm but at the same time, think how much teen/youth culture has changed since "Daria" ended. There are
              so many
stories they could tell through a reboot, which I assume would be the case if it ever did come back.

I too think it closed with a right note. It has that 90s early 00s feel about it which is teenage nostaliga for me. I don't know what they can do with it now days. The show is timeless no matter what generation of teens many would understand it.

Aside from some of the music, some of the clothing styles, a few of the cultural references and advances in technology (touch screen phones, Ipods/pads/tablets, social networking), the show has aged pretty well and there's still plenty today's youth could relate to. If anything, how much MTV has changed in general would be the hurdle for something like Daria to ever appear on the network again.
The most I wouldn't mind seeing, which was already mentioned somewhere on here, is a High School reunion movie show what happened to everyone after the series ended. Yeah it's a cliche and very unlikely to happen, but it's really the only way the show could make some kind of comeback.

MTV in Australia currently plays episodes of Daria. Just thought I let you know 🙂

I don't see how they can have a new series running on from the original run. By the end of it, she wasn't the same Daria as before and that removes the concept of the programme. I noticed that this was a problem in the last series. Daria kept on having epiphanies and would resolve to be more enthusiastic about life, but then she would often be back to being a misanthrope in the following episode. The writers probably realised that an enthusiastic Daria just wouldn't be Daria. The last episode was a very heavy one and Glenn Eichler has stated that it was meant to end Daria's spiritual journey.

I agree. Daria isn't something you can really revisit.
I would like another show like Daria, but Daria should be appreciated for what it is.

I wouldn't mind seeing a reunion movie, although that might be a tad depressing, but a rebooted Daria is something I wouldn't be in favor of at all. First of all, the show ended with them all graduating HS, so ignoring that and having them still at Lawndale High is too much of a contradiction for meand I'm not sure picking it up where they left off and showing them in college would have as much charm.
                            Besides,
                            Daria
is a show that is very steeped in its time. I like the late 90s feel of it. A modern day version that is updated to represent 2015 youth/pop culture attitude (Twitter, iPhones, pansexual hipsters in tight pants and social justice warriors), I think would be totally annoying in the context of a show like
                            Daria.
Plus it seems like it's no longer acceptable (at least on TV) to be callous or dismissive to "weird" types like Daria and Jane, which would make them better adjusted and thus the show wouldn't have as much bite from the cold perspective of someone like Daria.
That being said, I wish MTV would air unedited reruns of it on a regular basis.

                              Another comeback, you say?
May I ask when the first comeback was?
