The Bible scene was very cool and effective, here are some of my favorite scenes
The Garden scene with hopkins and honsoun
Hopkin's speech
The entire flashback onboard the Amistad
The ending sequence with the slave colony being torn down, and the ironic statement of the captain saying that it did not exist.
Honsoun saying we want free. -

- swimming towards the sun.
- smelling the flower.
- the young justice (who was appointed by the potus staff to replace the older justice) in the church, just before he delivers his opinion. and when he says "on the charge, ON THE CHARGE OF SLAVE TRADING". i jumped out of my seat, literally. those moments were amazing. [EDIT- the cross over between the justice saying some prayers in latin and between our 2 slaves-characters talking about the bible in particular gets to me. i don't thin the slave-bible thingy would have gotten to be on its own; when it was mixed with the justice in the church, it really got to me. um. thanks]
- the representation of "this is how it ALMOST works" "this is how it SHOULD work". "there's no word for 'should' in mende". that scene was so awesome. that's so american. loved that moment.
- the dialogue between JQA and Cinque (including that funny moment where Cinque thinks JQA is just talking too much). a few asian cultures too worship their ancestors (not necessarily like praying to Gods, but it's on the same lines).
most Hopkins moments are incredible.
thanks.

Had a discussion with my western civilization history teacher the other day about Marie-Antoinette and for some reason remembered this scene (couldn't think of what film it was from and had to finally look up Anna Paquin to see who it was)Originally, thought it was Luc Besson's MESSENGER: STORY OF JOAN OF ARC!

I am watching this movie for the first time.
That scene, the Bible scene was awesome. I was crying. For real tears falling off my face.
Beautiful!

. When they bring the first translator who is not very good and he can't really translate, the slaves leave furious and Baldwin asks "what did they say?" and the guy responds "Uhthey said they had to leave" That was hilarious.
. When Cinque and the other guy interpret the Bible.
. The shocking scenes of torture and brutality like when they drown the slavesthat was powerfully moving.
. What I think the most touching moment, when Cinque says "Thank youBaldwin" in english. That was so moving.
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning"
