I think this movie is one of Seagal's best.
There is a lot of humour in it if you pay attention, some country music and a decent story and some decent acting.
Seagal is funny, he is never boring and he always says funny stuff like:'
'I should be scared now'?
This movie should be at least rated a 6.3 or something like that.

It was a good story. I just think that Segal went a little overboard on the "martial artist who nobody can touch" character. As with many of Segal's films, it's lacking that opponent who can give him a challenge, like Screwface from Marked for Death or Donald from The Glimmer Man. "Pimple" was a great opportunity for him to take on a strong opponent, but Segal defeated him in two strikes as if he was one of the smaller guys. From a drama standpoint, the film was okay. From an action standpoint, Segal was too big of a fish in too small of a pond.

This film seems greatly underrated to me. I don't remember seeing Segal before. I thought he did a very good job although I agree with another post he didn't have enough competition. But, isn't that true of most action films? I thought the rest of the acting was very good too. The movie captured my attention while I was trying to do something else. It was violent - but does that affect the ratings? Did violence hurt the Godfather? James Bond?

He's just so good, isn't he!! I hope this means you'll endeavour to see a few more of his movies? There are more that are just as entertaining. I'll presume to recommend a few if that's okay.
Marked for Death
The Glimmer Man
Out for Justice
Nico (Above the Law)
Just a few of many.

Definitely underrated and one of Seagal's best. Not only did he play guitar in the movie, he wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on the soundtrack!
It is true, as a couple other posters pointed out, that he lacks any serious competition in the movie but, remember, the semi almost took him out. As far as hand-to-hand fighting goes, he's no different in this movie than Eastwood in "Pale Rider" or Rambo or James Bond. He's basically a mortal superhero a veritable one-man army. Who doesn't enjoy seeing him take out the multiple villains and teaching them a much-needed lesson? Just accept it and enjoy the movie.
