Nothing "happened" because it didn't need to. It wouldn't have been "right".

I think that was part of the point. Urgayle says "her presence makes us vulnerable." US, implying that he also has a weakness because of her. It seems to me that the attraction to her made him over-compensate in his treatment of her.
Also, having Jordan and Urgayle together would probably be conforming to the stereotype of women as just the love interests and having lovers in the group would probably be detrimental to its stability.
I think the hair-stroking was possibly just showing the compassion a woman can bring to the military. And the shower scene? Well, yeah, Urgayle liked her but maybe the body language was all Viggo's.

I was glad they didn't do a love story in this movie, it would've completely desecrated the entire point they were trying to make in the movie, which is alicator said perfect, that women are merely love interests. And I have to say I disagree I don't think Viggo looked at her lovingly, I think he looked at her as a soldier, and one with which he had respect for and that's why he wanted to protect her.
I am so glad they didn't do a love story though.

Like Master Chief said- "She's not the problem. We are."
He demonstrated this by easing her training and overcompensating in the torture scene. He demonstrated this by eyeballing her naked body. He demonstrated this by shooting the Libyan and risking the whole operation instead of letting her knife the Libyan herself.
They didn't need them to have sex since she had a supportive man at home to come home to and have sex and cigars with.
Boinking one of your men, I believe, is "conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman".

There was nothing in the behavior of either his character or hers to indicate a romantic or sexual attraction. While the actors had a strong chemistry and I could see them as a couple in another project, I didn't see anything in the way the Master Chief and Jordan interacted to demonstrate such a connection. I think sometimes we project our own conclusions onto the characters onscreen.
And I think to have a romantic relationship between the two of them would have diminished both characters and what they stood for. His respect for her by the end was earned by her hard work, determination and endurance. And her ability to appreciate his leadership was based on what he taught her over the course of her training and the fact that as tough as he was on her, it was not because he lacked respect for her but rather that his objection to her was about the effect it might have on the men.
Making them a romantic couple would have lowered the whole theme to that old notion that men and women can't serve together without developing romantic or sexual relationships when the reality is that many serve with honor without ever bringing their personal lives into their service life. -

Yeah, I think some people are reading WAY more into those scenes then what was actually there.
Both Master Chief and O'Neil were professionals who only seemed to grow to respect each other more by films end. Hence, the end scene where Master Chief gives O'Neil his medal as his way of saying thank you for risking her life to save his.
Now, if people wanna make up some sort of fantasy romance between the two characters that's fine. It's total b.s., but they are still free to come to that conclusion. -

Royce may have been awful and boring, but he supported her, respected her and protected her. They were very much equals in their relationship and that is one of the movie's themes. I had a lot of respect for Royce because of the nature of their relationship.
I am one who is glad the movie didn't play up the sex in the training camp. Master Chief looking at Demi's showering body reminded me
a lot
of the scene in "Witness" when Harrison Ford catches a glimpse of Kelly McGillis sponge-bathing. Yes, there was an attraction. But there was also a non-sexual ambiance there- an uncrossable line that the men respected. Thus, the attraction didn;t matter because duty was the overriding factor. And with Master Chief, his duty was to train a Navy SEAL.
But as a civilian, I could completely enjoy Demi in the shower or doing her power-pushups
in her sports bra. because I am not a Navy SEAL. I am a perv.
I dont need you to tell me how good my coffee is.
